Holiday News 2017
Dec 4 2017
As another year winds down, we wanted to share some Holiday news with you on our continued partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Canada. We have decided to continue a tradition that we began last year by sponsoring 4 Wishes in lieu of Holiday gifts for clients. We feel (and it appears so many of our clients agree) that this is one of the most rewarding ways to thank our clients.
Here are the four Wishes we are sponsoring this Holiday Season.
DYLAN - FROM HALIFAX - NODULAR LYMPHOCYTE PREDOMINANT HODGKIN LYMPHOMA
“I wish to go to Whistler for an amazing ski trip!” Like most 13-year-old boys, Dylan loves to play sports and feast on peanut M&Ms! He has a condition known as Nodular Lymphocyte Predominant Hodgkin Lymphoma which is a type of cancer that starts in the lymphatic system. Dylan’s favourite subject is Phys Ed, he loves most sports, including baseball, swimming, skiing and playing basketball. His favourite team is the Golden State Warriors; but most of all, Dylan LOVES bacon!...but forget the broccoli! His wish is to go on an incredible skiing trip with his sister and parents to Whistler in March 2018!
MADELINE – FROM ALBERTA – HODGKIN’S LYMPHOMA
“I wish to go on a beach holiday somewhere in the Caribbean!” Madeline is an intelligent and creative 16-year-old girl who loves reading mystery and adventure books! Her favourite subject is drama and she loves acting and watching films like Indiana Jones and Mamma Mia. When she is not practicing lines, Madeline enjoys hanging out with her friends and dog, playing board games, drawing, skiing and snorkeling. She wants to have a beach vacation where she can relax as well as have a bit of adventure, reconnect with family and to feel ‘normal’. She doesn’t know exactly where she’ll be going yet but it’ll be somewhere in the Caribbean with her parents and two brothers.
YOHAN - FROM QUEBEC - JOB SYNDROME
“I wish to go to Japan!” Like most 15-year-old boys, Yohan loves to play video games and has unstoppable energy. He has a condition known as Job syndrome which affects several body systems, particularly his immune system. He is a big fan of the Japanese comics known as “Manga” so his one true wish is to visit Japan with his family and learn about the Japanese culture.
SYDNEY – FROM BC – CYSTIC FIBROSIS
"I wish to go snorkelling in Maui!" Sydney is a bright, happy and smart 13-year-old girl. She has Cystic Fibrosis which causes various effects on the body, but mainly affects the digestive system and lungs. Sydney has 2 dogs and loves to learn by watching educational videos on YouTube. She enjoys listening to music, dancing, playing Wii and watching movies. Sydney’s favourite restaurant is Denny’s and, when she is not on treatments, she loves treating herself to chocolate (her fave food!). Sydney will be travelling to Hawaii with her parents and her older sister in January.
So as another year ends, we would like to thank all of our clients and partners for your continued support. With your help we are proud to be able to continue our partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Canada. Happy Holidays!!!
