Make A Wish Update

At the half way mark of 2017, we wanted to update our valued clients on the 4 Wishes we sponsored last Holiday Season in lieu of our usual gifts.

Two of the wishes are now complete (with details below) and one is happening as we post this (Angelie in the Bahamas)! We expect the 4th trip to be booked soon. In the meantime, here are two lovely young ladies with their trip details…

Deana – from B.C.

“The trip was just like a dream and I never wanted to wake up! My parents and I had such a fantastic time and there are no words to express our gratitude to Make-A-Wish and the supporters that helped make my wish come true! We loved each and every second of it!

There is so much I want to tell you!!

It was my first time going to a desert. I was humbled by how small humans seem when facing the art of nature. It was windy, so our hair was flying all over the place and we got sand on our face. We had a good time that evening as well while getting henna tattoo done on my hands and watching belly dancing. We went to the world’s highest skyscraper Burj Khalifa and the aquarium as well. The view from the building was incredible!

It was such a family bonding trip! The three of us haven’t gone for a trip like this for 3 or 4 year since I came to Canada. We loved how we were going everywhere together, stuck in the same room with each other and there isn’t the time difference between us! :)

The trip was such an amazing experience! Especially after all the pain and suffering me and my family went through last year, I really appreciated this time away. Thank you again so much for everything you did to make this whole thing possible! It reminded me how this beautiful world is still waiting for me to explore it.”

Mia – from Ontario

Mia is a 13-year-old girl living with a brain tumour. She loves the colour blue and her favourite subject is art. She also loves to hangout with her two cats and dog. Mia’s hobbies include singing, sports and travelling. Mia’s most cherished wish came true when she got her wish to go to Hawaii!

Mia set off to Hawaii with lots of exciting surprises in store! Mia’s wish trip started with a limo ride to the airport, then having her name announced over the PA onboard the WestJet aircraft! Once in Hawaii, her first adventure was a snorkel trip where she saw dolphins, three humpback whales and sea turtles. Mia and her family also enjoyed a luau and took in the Hawaiian culture! Mia hiked the Lahaina Pali Trail where she enjoyed the incredible views of the forest, waterfalls and ocean! At the Haleakala Crater they enjoyed the most incredible sunrise bright and early.

Mia’s mom told us that the wish trip “brought our family closer together, the whole family had a chance to get away and leave the real world behind.” When we asked Mia’s mom how the entire wish experience was, she told us it was “the best family trip we have ever taken!”
